Hello! I’m J. G. Bouchard, Joe, or Jobo, or Jobou, all depending on what period of my life you might have known me. I’ll still answer to any of those handles.
I used to write. A lot. It’s been a bit of a dry spell, but I’m back at it. I write poetry, science fiction, fantasy, even non-fiction stuff. I’ve built three websites and filled them with awesome content. And then lost them to gross human error. And I’ve regrouped. More than once.
My Muse has never quit, even when I break from writing for a while. She is always nattering away in the background, begging for a new session, and it’s about time I indulge her!
So yeah, I’m writing again. Again. I’m self-publishing my work (again…), which is such an amazing feeling. And its been good. I feel great, and I’ve got a lot of stories to tell at the young old age of 43.
I’ll be contributing fantasy fiction to The Jendala Archives. I have some great shit lined up that I think you will like. Grabbing tasty bits from old world mythologies and cultures. For example, I’ve got a hair-raising tale to tell of an average farm boy racing to save his village from a centuries old terror that is determined to be free of banishment.
I’ve also got a Patron-driven science fiction project waiting to be launched whenever I finally get myself sorted: Speculative Punk, they call it… This is separate from The Jendala Archives, set on the far-off world of Soteri, focused around three warring provinces.. Full of steam-powered weapons gas-fueled robotic armor, genetically engineered super-soldiers, mad scientists, and killer teddybears. How can you pass any of that up?
My notebooks are flooded with ideas, mysteries, and conflicts for both projects. Stories for The Jendala Archives will be posted here as soon as they’re available, along with a smattering of separate fiction I write for a role-playing group. But the Soteri sci-fi will only be available for immediate reading from my Patreon page, with a scheduled delay on public releases. I can promise you though, if you love anything you’ve read of mine here then you’ll be blown away yet again by the work I share at Patreon, so be sure to stop by and check it out!
